In Lagos, Pa Adekanmbi established a hardware store on Simpson Street, marking the beginning of his entrepreneurial ventures. He also briefly dabbled in politics with the NCNC but ultimately decided to leave the political arena after encountering challenges.
Following his stint in politics, Pa Adekanmbi worked as a cashier before taking the bold step of starting his own business. He ventured into various enterprises, including running a gas station and operating a commercial transport service, showcasing his adaptability and willingness to explore new opportunities.
Realizing the potential in real estate, Pa Adekanmbi expanded his business interests to include property ownership. He acquired properties in central Lagos as well as in his hometown of Fiditi and Oyo State, solidifying his position as a prominent figure in both locations.
In his personal life, Pa Adekanmbi was married to Agnes Kushimo, with whom he had several children. He also had a second wife, Mama Ajimo, and two daughters with her. His dedication to family extended beyond mere provision, as he ensured that all his children received a private Catholic education and were deeply involved in religious activities.
Pa Adekanmbi was a devout member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Ebute-Metta and actively participated in the Knight of Mulumba. His commitment to his faith was evident in his daily routine, which began with early morning worship and prayer.
